Department of Clinical Sciences (DCS) – Educational Leadership

The Department of Clinical Sciences (DCS) manages Family Medicine (FMED), Internal Medicine (IMED), Obstetrics & Gynecology (OBGYN), Pediatric (PEDS), Psychiatry (PSYCH), and Surgery (SURG) specialties.

The six (6) Assistant Chairs of Specialty Education (FMED, IMED, OBGYN, PEDS, PSYCH, SURG) work with Regional Clerkship Directors and Regional Education Coordinators to ensure that medical education is consistent throughout the regional campuses.

The three (3) Directors (Clinical Skills, Clinical Competencies, Preventive Health & Community Studies) work with Course Directors, Curriculum Dean, Department Chair, and Department Vice Chair for coordination of curriculum content across all four years of the medical degree.
