Medical & Dependent Care Reimbursement Accounts

  • Flexible Spending overview:

Long term, Short term, Group Life, and Accidental Death & Dismemberment

Insurances are provided by Guardian Life Insurance Company.

  • Short Term Disability (STD):
    • After 30 days of illness or injury and until Long‐term disability begins at 181 days for eligible employees.
    • Employer paid benefits continue during the short term disability period.
    • 100% Company Paid
  • Long Term Disability (LTD):
    • 180 day waiting period
    • 60% of base salary
    • $15,000 monthly maximum
    • The duration of the LTD benefit is to age 65 with a reducing benefit after age 65
    • 100% Company Paid
  • Group Life/Accidental Death & Dismemberment life insurance:
    • 2 X annual salary to a maximum of $1,200,000
    • 35% reduction at age 70 and an additional 15% reduction at age 75

Voluntary Insurances Available

  • Voluntary Life/AD&D Overview:
    • Additional Life and AD&D are available for purchasing through Guardian Life Insurance Company
    • Employee: Up to 5 X Salary in $10,000 increments not to exceed $500,000. You may purchase AD&D coverage regardless of whether you purchase Term Life Coverage
    • Spouse: Up to 100% of employee amount in increments of $5,000 not to exceed $500,000. Benefits will be paid to the Employee.
    • Child: Up to 100% of employee coverage amount in increments of $2,000 not to exceed $10,000. The maximum death benefit for a child between the ages of live birth and 6 months is $1,000. Benefits will be paid to the Employee.
    • Coverage amounts will reduce at age 70 according to the following schedule: 65% at age 70 and 50% at age 75. Coverage may not be increased after reduction.
    • Guaranteed Issue Amounts: $100,000 employee $50,000 spouse and $10,000 child.
    • Any amounts above require evidence of insurability.


  • Retirement Overview:
    • 403(b) Plan
      • All pension-eligible employees
      • 4% required employee contribution in the 403(b) Plan
      • 8% employer contribution in the 403(b) Plan (6% for certain highly compensated individuals)
      • Additional voluntary contributions can be made at the discretion of the employee
    • 457(b) Plan
      • Select group of management or highly compensated employees
      • Voluntary contributions only, no employer match
